Decaying Industrial Relics are not hard to find around Doncaster. Beautiful and sad reminders of the past.

Not Your Time

Not Your Time
Acrylic On Canvas
16 x 20"
Self explanatory title really. I saw this old car on  a trip to Leeds. It was parked down an old cobbled street and I knew I had to paint it. They really did make better looking cars back then.

I Remember
Graphite On Paper
11.75 x 16.5"
A few drawings I did based on the theme of the Industrial past of the area where I live. Here we can see the remains of old railway bridges, canals and industrial wasteland. Sad really to think of how this area was once a thriving production centre.

Bone Collector

Bone Collector
Acrylic On Canvas
24 x 18"
I think this is one of my best paintings to date. It has always been my goal to combine the abstract and the real into one vision and although some attempts at this have been more successful than others, I feel this one is a success. Would you believe this is actually my dentist's building. I enjoy the challenge of creating something interesting out of something that may not appear so and I get an enormous sense of satisfaction when it all goes right.

Listen To The Waves
Graphite On Paper
11.75 x 16.5"

These are the three drawings I entered into the Derwent Art Prize. I am quite proud of them as drawing this way is still new and challenging for me. I do feel though that they compliment my paintings quite well. Coast was actually shortlisted for the award and I look forward to having it displayed for everyone to see. Hopefully they will appreciate the time and effort I have put into it. Whatever happens at least I was shortlisted which is quite an achievement in itself.
